Laura Ellen Prado, DNP, NP

Laura Ellen Prado is a Nurse Practitioner at Atlanta Brain and Spine Care who partners closely with Dr. Regis W. Haid, Jr. She originally attended Wittenberg University, in Springfield, Ohio, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. Laura then pursued her interest in nursing, graduating with honors, from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While working in the neuroscience intensive care unit, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Adult Critical Care.  Laura is a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and licensed in Georgia. She has worked primarily in neurosurgical settings, and began working with Dr. Haid in 2002. While working full-time at Atlanta Brain and Spine Care, she returned to Emory University to complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2016. She is involved in the entire continuum of care of Dr. Haid’s patients and you will see her in the office, the operating room and the hospital.

Laura is an active member of several professional organizations including the American College of Nurse Practitioners; Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing; and was inducted into Psi Chi National Honor Society of Psychology.

Laura and her husband Arturo, from Caracas, Venezuela reside in Atlanta.   She enjoys gardening and weekend getaways to Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, GA with their weimaraners, as well as travel around the world.
